..who know best?

..just a thought when i was disciplining boy this morning..

..when a parent tells a child what to do and what not to do, how can one be sure the parent knows best?  how can one be sure whether the parent is even right in the first place?  i am not talking about the the common sensical and obvious right/wrong matters like "boy, stop biting your sister", "ger, pack up your toys before you bathe", "children, don't jump on the sofa"..but more on issues pertaining to the parents' own up-bringing and/or personal preferences like what the child should eat or not eat, learn or not learn, do or not do, how and how not to do certain things, what and what not to think, how and how not to perceive the things they see and hear..

..God brings to mind this passage..

1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:

 2 for attaining wisdom and discipline;
       for understanding words of insight;

 3 for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life,
       doing what is right and just and fair;

 4 for giving prudence to the simple,
       knowledge and discretion to the young-

 5 let the wise listen and add to their learning,
       and let the discerning get guidance-

 6 for understanding proverbs and parables,
       the sayings and riddles of the wise.

 7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
       but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

..favourite army song..

training to be soldier
fight for our land
once in our live
two years of our time
have you ever wondered?
why we must serve?
because we love our land
and we want it to be free to be free..yah!

looking all around us
people everywhere
childen having fun
while we are holding guns
have you ever wondered?
why we must serve?
because we love our land
and we want it to be free to be free..yah!

..translation..

..isn't it frustrating not to understand what your baby wants when he/she cries, especially for long period of time with the same cry, in the same tone? after being a father close to 4 years, translation is finally available!!

..my boy is a "crier"right from birth..i've never seen him not cry for a single day for the past 2 years and 2 months..the other day, he did it again in the wee hours of the morning..but that night, in my daze, it sounded like a baby crying, same repetitive tone and sound, except it's all in words..

..to read the following, start a low frequency whining of a baby in your mind first..

"..milk...milk..milk...milk...milk...milk....mummy milk milk....milk milk mummy....mummy milk milk now....milk milk now mummy....mummy go make milk milk...milk milk mummy..go make milk milk now.....mummy go kitchen now make milk milk..mummy make milk milk in kitchen now..."

..so now i understand the prolong crying of babies..probably they think that parents are clueless and hence have to add on the specifications as they go along, just in case the parents don't get it..

..but mummy chia, we'll probably wouldn't have another chance to hear another of our own baby crying again right? :P
